Research Fellow WP2 and WP6
Comparative Inquiry for Urban Equality | The Bartlett Development Planning Unit
I am a Research Fellow on the KNOW project working across two themes, 'Comparative Enquiry for Urban Equality' (WP2) and 'Expanding ODA Research Capacity for Urban Equality' (WP6).
I am an urban geographer with experience conducting Participatory Action Research in cities in the global North and South. My research interests include community self-organisation, urban food systems, and urban decision-making processes. I am interested in the ways in which the relations between urban actors both shape and are shaped by urban spatial development at the neighbourhood and city levels.
In my doctoral research at Coventry University, I used a combination of qualitative and participatory methodologies, including participatory video-making, to explore the politics of self-organisation and the social production of space in urban community gardens. I also hold an MSc Development Administration and Planning from the Development Planning Unit (DPU).
Prior to my doctorate, I worked at the DPU as a Research Officer and as a Graduate Teaching Assistant on the MSc Urban Development Planning programme. I have also previously worked as a Research Assistant at the London International Development Centre and the International Institute for Environment and Development.
